7. The Weaver's House, Spon End, Coventry
The Weaver's House is the culmination of a 10-year programme to preserve and restore a terrace of 15th century workers' cottages in the Spon End area of Coventry.
Detailed research found a weaver, John Croke, who was living in the terrace around 1540; his house has been restored to its contemporary state and furnished with his possessions, including a working loom.
This house and the one next door, to be used as a resource centre, will become part of the education facilities for the city.
