2. York Minster Centre for School Visits - The Mason's Lodge


Combining elements of Science, Design and Technology, the reconstructed Mason's Lodge, with its replica tracing floor, drawing instruments, templates and stones, allows children to discover how a great mediaeval cathedral was built.


The Mason's Lodge reveals how the master mason's ideas were transformed into 3D pieces of stone and illustrates the connection between mediaeval craftsmanship and modern maintenance and restoration.
